Earlier former Defence Sitaraman already took a sortie in Sukhoi 30 MKI. Speaking about the event, DRDO chief Dr G Satheesh Reddy said, "The ‘Raksha Mantri’ controlled and flew the Tejas for some time.

LCA Tejas program, which began in the 1980s to replace India's aging MiG 21 fighters. Though Tejas is a very good fighter aircraft but critics always keeps on raising its performance in comparison with other aircraft.

It is very interesting to know that the test pilot of Tejas said that the handling and maneuvering is better than Balakot star aircraft Miraj 2000. IAF has already given 40 Tejas aircraft to HAL and 83 is in pipeline. ADA and HAL are also working on Tejas more advanced version which is Tejas MK1A.

The main feature of Tejas aircraft is its lightweight and its fast speed. The Tejas fighter jet rips the sky at a speed of 2200 kilometers per hour. The reason for this is that its total weight is 6540 kg and when fully equipped with weapons it becomes about 10 thousand kg which is less than other fighter aircraft of India. Tejas is also capable of flying at an altitude of 50 thousand feet.

Tejas has only one engine and only one pilot can seat in this fighter aircraft. In this aircraft, 9 types of weapons can be loaded and fired simultaneously. These weapons are equipped with air-to-air missiles, air-to-ground missiles, air-to-water missiles, laser-guided missiles, rockets, and bombs.

Tejas aircraft can fly at double the speed of sound and covers a distance of 3000 km at a time. It can be fuelled in air also. It has a powerful engine of American company GE. The state-of-the-art ALTA radar technology purchased from Israel does not allow it to be seen by enemy radars.

So, it silently attacks the enemy. The biggest thing is that if the pilot is not able to control the aircraft, then the computers installed in it control the aircraft itself. The Indian Air Force had been waiting for more than 30 years for Tejas to be a part of its fleet. That dream is now fulfilled but the delay has made Tejas extremely expensive.

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, which made Tejas, has handed over the sixteen Tejas aircraft till now which is part of new squadron Flying Daggers. Flying Daggers 45 is the same squadron that was made for the MiG-21 aircraft, but now Tejas is going to replace the MiG-21 aircraft.
